Cr53 (p,p′ γ)Cr53 and Cr53 (p, n γ)Mn53 Reactions

Abstract

Total yields and angular distributions of 380 keV gamma rays from the Cr53 (p, n γ) Mn53 reaction have been measured for proton energies below 2.5 MeV. The experimental results are in good agreement with predictions of the statistical compound-nucleus theory. The angular distributions of 560 keV gamma rays upon the proton inelastic scattering on Cr53 at Ep = 2.3, 2.4 and 2.5 MeV are isotropic, which is commensurate with a ½ assignment to the first excited state of Cr53.
