Semiphenomenological Model Approach to Continuous Spectrum States. II

Abstract

The Semiphenomenological Model of the Nucleus (SPM) is applied to description of inelastic nucleon scattering with excitation of rotational states. Cross sections of inelastic scattering of protons with E = 6 Mev by 56Fe with excitation of the states |IπK> = |2+0> and |IπK> = |2+2> are calculated for illustration. The total deformation and non-axiality parameters are derived and compared with predictions of SPM, the agreement being satisfactory.
