Auf den Dreh kommt es an: Beim Einbau eines langkettigen Kohlenwasserstoffs während der Selbstorganisation zylindrischer Kapseln, deren Hohlraumöffnung durch acht Benzolringe verlängert ist, induzieren die zusätzlichen π-Oberflächen eine helicale Konformation der Kette, sodass eine vollständige Verkapselung resultiert (siehe Bild).
