Zink macht einen Unterschied: Die neuen Komplexe [(3,5-Me2C5H3N)2Zn(ESiMe3)2] (1: E=Se, 2: E=Te, siehe Bild, Te rot, Zn blau, Si gelb, N grün) erwiesen sich als gute Reagentien für die Erzeugung von ternären MM′E-Materialien. Aus 2 wurde der ternäre ZnCdTe-Nanocluster [Zn2.6Cd7.4Te4(TePh)12(PnPr3)4] hergestellt. Seine optischen Eigenschaften sind gegenüber denen verwandter binärer CdTe-Clustermoleküle moduliert.
