Leicht erhältlich sind chirale α-sulfanylsubstituierte Aldehyde durch direkte Synthese aus unmodifizierten Aldehyden und 1-Benzylsulfanyl-1,2,4-triazol. Die Aldehyde werden in Gegenwart von sterisch anspruchsvollen chiralen Pyrrolidinderivaten als Organokatalysatoren mit hervorragenden Enantioselektivitäten erhalten (siehe Schema).
