Zwei Arten von Koordinationsschichten, die aus CoII-Ionen, 3-Hydroxypicolinat und 4,4′-Bipyridin bestehen, durchdringen sich und bilden so ein einzigartiges molekülbasiertes magnetisches Material (siehe Bild). Dieses Material ist durch einen metamagnetischen Übergang bei niedrigem Feld und durch einen verkanteten Antiferromagnetismus gekennzeichnet.
