Unverbrückte, jedoch isospezifische Metallocenkatalysatoren zur Polypropylenherstellung lassen sich während eines Methylaluminoxan(MAO)-unterstützten Aktivierungsschrittes in situ erzeugen (siehe Bild). Dies wird an einem Dimethylaminophenyl-substituierten Zirconocen demonstriert, das im festen Zustand eine racemische, C2-symmetrische Struktur aufweist und hoch isotaktisches Polypropylen ergibt.
