Doppelte Kontrolle: Überstrukturen aus einem mit Fluoresceinisothiocyanat (FITC) dotierten SiO2-Kern, CdTe-Nanokristallen und einer SiO2-Schale zeigen eine hochaufgelöste zweifache Fluoreszenzemission. Die Hybridpartikel können leicht in Mehrfarbenfluoreszenzsonden überführt werden, indem man das Intensitätsverhältnis der beiden Fluoreszenzemissionen durch nachgeschaltete Codierung mit Cu2+-Ionen abstimmt (siehe Bild).
