Ringe aus P und B: Die Valenzisomerisierungen von PBBP-1,3-Butadienen wurden mit denjenigen entsprechender PCCP- und Kohlenstoffsysteme verglichen. Die 2,3-Diborata-1,4-diphosphoniabuta-1,3-diene isomerisieren thermisch zu Bicyclo[1.1.0]butanen oder Cyclobutan-1,3-diylen. Bei photolytischer Aktivierung lagern sich die Bicyclo[1.1.0]butane in Cyclobutene um.
