Ein Weg zu sauberen Motoren: Die Konzentration eines chemischen Systems, das ein Azobenzolderivat enthält, kann zyklisch durch Licht variiert werden, und diese Schwankungen lassen sich ihrerseits in kontinuierliche Arbeit umsetzen. Die zyklische Konzentrationsänderung des Systems resultiert aus einer lichtgesteuerten Selbstorganisation/Dissoziation.
