Händigkeit induziert: Rastertunnelmikroskopisch ließ sich nachweisen, dass in selbstorganisierten Monoschichten aus achiralen Molekülen an der Flüssig-fest-Grenzfläche eine lösungsmittelinduzierte Homochiralität entsteht (siehe Bild). Die Chiralität des Lösungsmittels bestimmt die makroskopische Chiralität der Monoschicht. Die Dynamik der Entwicklung der Homochiralität wurde mit zeitabhängigen Messungen untersucht.
