Löchriger organischer Feststoff: Das effektive Packen des starren Makrocyclus Cucurbituril mithilfe von CH⋅⋅⋅O-Wasserstoffbrücken und Van-der-Waals-Wechselwirkungen liefert eine wabenartige Struktur mit ungewöhnlicher Stabilität und Porosität. Ihre Sorptionseigenschaften, vor allem für Acetylen, sind beeindruckend: Die Speicherkapazität ist ähnlich gut wie die von metall-organischen Netzwerken oder sogar besser.
