Nicht alles was glänzt … Die Aktivität immobilisierter Gold-Nanopartikel hängt von der Herstellungsmethode ab. Goldcluster mit 2 nm Durchmesser wurden auf nichtreduzierbaren Metalloxiden und Kohlenstoffmaterialien abgeschieden, indem ein fester flüchtiger Goldkomplex in einer Kugelmühle zermahlen und anschließend kalziniert wurde. So erzeugtes Au/ZrO2 und Au/Al2O3 sind extrem leistungsfähige Katalysatoren für die aerobe Oxidation von Glucose.
