Einiges auf dem Kasten: Die Selbstorganisation von 5,10,15,20-Tetrakis(4-pyridyl)porphyrin mit zwei Äquivalenten cis-[(dppf)Pt(OTf)2] (dppf=1,1′-Bis(diphenylphosphanyl)ferrocen; OTf = CF3SO3) ergibt das erste offene Kastenmolekül mit sechs Porphyrinwänden (siehe Schema). Der Molekülhohlraum hat ein Volumen von 43 550 Å3.
