Licht in das Dunkel: Ultraschnelle Elektronenbeugung am Tryptophan-Chromophor, Indol (siehe ermittelte Struktur), offenbart die Beteiligung von Dunkelstrukturen an strahlungslosen Energiepfaden des isolierten Moleküls. Solche Dunkelstrukturen müssen daher berücksichtigt werden, will man die Stabilität biologischer Chromophore verstehen.
