Abstract

Konkurrenz für die natürliche Peroxidase: Eine existierende Bindungsstelle für Glutathion wurde mithilfe eines auxotrophen Expressionssystems mit dem katalytischen Aminosäurerest Tellurocystein versehen, um ein modifiziertes, als Glutathionperoxidase wirkendes Enzym zu erhalten (siehe Bild). Die katalytische Aktivität des Telluroenzyms in der Reduktion von Hydroperoxiden durch Glutathion ist mit der Aktivität der nativen Glutathionperoxidase vergleichbar.
