Wie am Schnürchen: Titankomplexe wurden als effiziente Katalysatoren für die Copolymerisation von Ethen mit polaren Olefinen, zum Beispiel ω-Alkenolen und ω-Alkensäuren, entwickelt. Auf diese Weise lässt sich ein Organophosphankatalysator an Polyethylen anknüpfen (siehe Bild; FG=funktionelle Gruppe, MMAO=modifiziertes Methylaluminoxan), um einen wiederverwertbaren Initiator der [3+2]-Cycloaddition zu erhalten.
