Paarbildung: Dimere von Ag-Nanokugeln unterschiedlicher Größe entstehen durch das Ätzen von Ag-Nanowürfeln mit Eisen(III)-nitrat in Ethanol in Gegenwart von Poly(vinylpyrrolidon) (PVP). Diese wohldefinierten Dimere (siehe TEM-Aufnahme) ermöglichen das systematische Studium des Hot-Spot-Phänomens bei der oberflächenverstärkten Raman-Streuung (SERS).
