Kurz und knapp: Eine Totalsynthese des stark antiproliferativen marinen Makrolids (+)-Neopeltolid setzt auf Olefinmetathesen als strategische Elemente. Durch diese kürzeste bekannte Synthese wird (+)-Neopeltolid in nur 13 Stufen ausgehend von käuflichen Verbindungen erhalten.
