Elegante Kontrolle: Ein auf dem grundlegendsten Motiv der DNA-Technik, der Doppel-Crossover-Struktur, beruhender DNA-Aktuator zeigt eine Schiebelehren-artige Bewegung zwischen elf unterschiedlichen Zuständen (siehe Bild). Dadurch kann der Aktuator die Abstände zwischen an ihm angebrachten Komponenten für physikalische und chemische Studien genau einstellen.
