Eine Strategie mit amorphen Keimen führt zur Synthese von Hybridnanopartikeln (siehe Bilder) mit Silber- (gelb) und Eisenoxid-Nanodomänen (blau). Ihre einzigartigen optischen Eigenschaften verdanken die Partikel zum einen der starken Oberflächenplasmonenresonanz des Silbers und zum anderen dem superparamagnetischen Verhalten der Eisenoxid-Domänen.
