Wähle dein Gift: Chirale CdTe-Quantenpunkte (CdTe-QDs) mit Hüllen aus einem L- oder D-Glutathion(GSH)-Stabilisator sind unterschiedlich cytotoxisch, obwohl ihre Zusammensetzungen und Größen identisch sind: D-GSH-QDs sind weniger giftig als L-GSH-QDs. Die Fähigkeit von QDs zur Induktion des Zelltods korreliert mit ihrer Fähigkeit zur Induktion von Autophagocytose, die chiralitätsunabhängig ist (siehe Bild).
