Das Stilbenderivat BTZB, ein anionischer organischer Fluorophor, zeigt nach Einlagerung in ein Doppelhydroxid mit Schichtstruktur ein reversibles optisches Ansprechverhalten auf äußeren Druck: Es kommt zu Änderungen des Absorptionsspektrums, der Lumineszenzfarbe und der Fluoreszenzlebensdauer (siehe Bild). Dieses Verhalten ist für reines BTZB nicht zu beobachten.
