Radikale am Werk: Die radikalvermittelte Thiol-En-Addition der Thiolgruppe von Cys an N-Vinylacetamid ergibt Acetylthialysin (KSAc), ein nahezu perfektes Acetyllysin-Imitat (siehe Bild). Die Reaktion ist hocheffizient mit nahezu quantitativer Umsetzung nach kurzen Reaktionszeiten. Das gebildete KSAc ist zu seinem natürlichen Gegenstück funktional identisch oder ihm sehr ähnlich.
