Wie angelt man ein Protein? Ein Analogon des appetitstimulierenden Hormons Ghrelin mit Phosphonofluoridat-Rest und endständigem Alkin wird als Sonde zum Abfangen des Proteins α2-Makroglobulin (rot, siehe Bild; DYE steht für einen Fluorophor) verwendet. Die Extraktion des Proteins ist sehr selektiv, darüber hinaus wurde die bisher nicht dokumentierte katalytische Aktivität von α2-Makroglobulin als Hydrolase für Ghrelin identifiziert.
