Alles vernetzt: Eine proteinmodifizierte Elektrode mit hierarchischen Strukturen aus photoaktivem Cytochrom b562 , rekonstituiert mit Zink-Protoporphyrin IX, erzeugt einen deutlich stärkeren Photostrom als eine Elektrode, die nur eine einzige Schicht eines Zink-substituierten Hämproteins trägt. Die Proteinoligomere mit kovalent angeknüpften Protoporphyringruppen aggregieren über supramolekulare Häm-Häm-Wechselwirkungen.
