Zwei in einem: Zwei Pseudorotaxane können mithilfe der kupferkatalysierten Alkin-Azid-„Klick-Reaktion“ zu einem Doppelachsen-Hetero[7]rotaxan (siehe Bild) kombiniert werden. Die Syntheseroute, in der doppelachsige und einachsige Rotaxane gebildet werden, kombiniert Selbstorganisation und die Knüpfung kovalenter Bindungen, um die korrekte Positionierung der beiden Ringarten im Endprodukt sicherzustellen.
