Zweifarbige Viruspartikel wurden durch gleichzeitige Markierung eines Glycoproteins (GP64) auf der Oberfläche eines Baculovirus mit einem grün fluoreszierenden Protein (GFP) und Markierung der Nukleinsäure (dsDNA) mit dem rot fluoreszierenden [Ru(phen)2(dppz)]2+-Komplex während der viralen Replikation in Wirtzellen erhalten. Dabei wurde ein In-vivo-Virus-Selbstorganisationssystem verwendet, das u. a. die virale Infektiosität nicht beeinflusst.
