Drei Ringe: Die Selbstorganisation eines wasserlöslichen [3]Catenans aus einer Bibliothek linearer Bausteine mit Cysteinkomponenten wird entweder von hohen Salzkonzentrationen oder von zugesetztem Spermin gefördert. Die [3]Catenan-Synthese mit Spermin als Templat zeigt, dass derartige Strukturen starke bindende Wechselwirkungen mit einer biologisch relevanten Zielsubstanz in Wasser unter nahezu physiologischen Bedingungen eingehen können.
