Ambitioniertes Vorhaben: Die β-Untereinheit des humanen follikelstimulierenden Hormons (hFSH) mit einem N-verknüpften Konsensusoligosaccharid an jeder der beiden Wildtyp-Zentren wurde synthetisiert. Das Glycoprotein wurde mit Acetamidomethyl-geschützten Cysteinen entworfen, um die Faltung und Assoziation mit der α-Untereinheit vorzubereiten. Es ist das größte realistisch glycosylierte homogene Glycoprotein, das mit rein chemischen Methoden erhalten wurde.
