Gold-Nanopartikel können als Plattform zur Aufklärung des Endozytosemechanismus von Cetuximab und dessen Nanokonjugaten sowie zum Umschalten von Endozytosepfaden (kaveolär oder pinozytotisch) in Pankreas-Krebszellen dienen, wie P. Mukherjee und Mitarbeiter in ihrer Zuschrift auf S. 1595 ff. zeigen. Das gezielte Einschalten eines Endozytosemechanismus könnte nützlich sein, um intrazelluläre Stoffwechselpfade spezifisch anzugreifen und so die Nebeneffekte pharmazeutischer Wirkstoffe zu minimieren.
