Retro ist angesagt: Die durch Diazabicycloundecan induzierte Retro-Claisen-Umlagerung einer linearen Vorstufe dient als Schlüsselschritt in der Bildung des gehinderten Esters des Polypropionats Dolabriferol (1). Von der Umlagerung wird vermutet, dass sie die biosynthetischen Bildung von 1 nachahmt.
