Direkter Beweis: Das Auftreten von Methoxyradikalen in einer anodischen Oxidation in Methanol an einer Bor-dotierten Diamantelektrode (BDDE) wurde mit ESR-Spektroskopie nachgewiesen. Das BDDE-Protokoll ermöglichte die effektive Bildung des Neolignans Licarin A (siehe Bild).
