Polycyclische aromatische Verbindungen (PACs) sind leicht zugänglich, wenn man zwei Reaktionen kombiniert: eine Suzuki-Miyaura-Kreuzkupplung und eine durch [Rh2(OAc)4] katalysierte Carbenreaktion der intermediären Bis(N-tosylhydrazone) (siehe Schema; Ts=4-Toluolsulfonyl).
