Osmium-Zentrum: Bei dem ersten m-Metallapyridin und dem ersten Metallapyrid-in handelt es sich um metallverbrückte polycyclische benzenoide Metallaarene, in denen das Übergangsmetallzentrum beiden Sechsringen zugehört. Ein Metallabenzol wird als Ausgangsmaterial für die Synthese höherer Metallaarene verwendet (siehe Schema).
