Cu-Pt-Dimetallschalen auf der Oberfläche doppelwandiger TiO2-Nanoröhren (PMTiNT) sind effiziente Photokatalysatoren für die Raumtemperatur-Umwandlung von CO2 in leichte Kohlenwasserstoffe wie CH4, C2H4 und C2H6. Mit dem System Cu0.33-Pt0.67/PMTiNT unter AM1.5-Bestrahlung gelang die Photoreduktion von verdünntem CO2 (1 % in N2) mit gemittelten Kohlenwasserstoffbildungsgeschwindigkeiten von 3.7 mL g−1 h−1 oder 6.1 mmol m−2 h−1.
