Amyloid-Krankheiten sind durch die Selbstorganisation von monomeren Proteinen zu supramolekularen Aggregaten gekennzeichnet. V. Subramaniam et al. beschreiben in ihrer Zuschrift auf S. 8951 ff. eine neue Methode zur Untersuchung der Zusammensetzung dieser Proteinaggregate, die das Photobleichen einzelner Moleküle mit dem substöchiometrischen Markieren durch Fluorophore verbindet. Das Titelbild zeigt die Aggregation von markierten/unmarkierten Monomeren und die anschließende Analyse einzelner Aggregate.
