Entdeckt: Bildgebende Massenspektrometrie eines Champignons (siehe Bild), der mit dem Pathogen Janthinobacterium agaricidamnosum infiziert war, und „Genome-Mining“ führten zur Identifizierung von Jagaricin als antifungalem Virulenzfaktor, der unter Standardkultivierungsbedingungen nicht produziert wird. Die Struktur von Jagaricin wurde mithilfe physikochemischer Analysen, chemischer Derivatisierung und bioinformatischer Methoden vollständig aufgeklärt.
