Drei in einem: Elastin-artige Polypeptide (ELPs, siehe Schema) und die Sortase-A(SrtA)-Transpeptidase ermöglichen in Kombination die Reinigung rekombinanter Proteine ohne Chromatographieschritt mit optionaler ortsspezifischer Konjugation der Proteine an ein Kleinmolekül (gelb). Auf diese Weise sind biologisch aktive Proteine in hohen Reinheiten und Ausbeuten zugänglich.
