Ein Käfig aus Si: Ein Siliciumcluster aus 16 Siliciumatomen, dessen Octasilacunean-Kern (rot; siehe Bild) mit Cyclotetrasilanen (orange) fusioniert ist, wurde durch reduktive Tetramerisierung von Tetrachlorcyclotetrasilan synthetisiert. Analytische und theoretische Studien belegen die einzigartigen strukturellen und elektronischen Eigenschaften dieses Organosiliciumclusters.
