Eine maximierte Energiedichte: Ladungen wurden kontrolliert elektrochemisch injiziert (ECI), um die Energiedichte von Superkondensatoren (SCs) zu maximieren. Das Elektrodenpotential wurde über die chemische Oberflächenstruktur des Elektrodenmaterials eingestellt, um die Betriebsspannung wie auch die spezifische Kapazität der SCs zu maximieren. Als Resultat erreicht die Energiedichte der Kohlenstoff-SCs fast das Niveau von Lithiumionenbatterien (siehe Bild).
