Die regioselektive Perfluoralkylierung von polycyclischen aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen (PAKs) mit CF3I ohne Lösungsmittel und Katalysator ergibt die luftstabilen organischen Elektronenakzeptoren (PAK(CF3)n). Die Elektronenaffinitäten dieser Verbindungen in der Gasphase korrelieren mit dem Ausmaß der CF3-Substitution; Anzahl und Position der CF3-Gruppen beeinflussen auch die π-π-Stapelung und die Kristallmorphologie.
