Transmetallierung von 1,4-Dilithio-1,3-butadienen mit Ba[N(SiMe3)2]2 führte zu Bariumdibenzopentaleniden, deren Struktur röntgenkristallographisch untersucht wurde. Erste Reaktivitätsstudien der so erhaltenen Bariumdibenzopentalenide zeigen präparativ nützliche Anwendungen auf.
