Im Fünferpack: Zwei Dialdehyde, zwei Diamine und ein Na+-Ion wurden für den Aufbau eines [2]Catenans genutzt. Diese einfache und effiziente Synthese nutzt ein Na+-Ion als Templat, um die Diethylenglycolketten zwischen den beiden Amingruppen paarweise orthogonal auszurichten (siehe Schema, TFPB=Tetrakis(3,5-trifluormethylphenyl)borat).
