Novel helical molecules, in which the helix form of the o-quaterphenyl skeleton is fixed by a bridge (B), have now been synthesized. Derivatives having bridges such as [BOND]CH2 [BOND]S[BOND]CH2[BOND](5-(HO2C)-1,3-C6H3) [BOND]CH2[BOND]S[BOND]CH2[BOND] should be resolvable into the enantiomers.
