Novel helical molecules, in which the helix form of the o-quaterphenyl skeleton is fixed by a bridge (B), have now been synthesized. Derivatives having bridges such as CH2 SCH2(5-(HO2C)-1,3-C6H3) CH2SCH2 should be resolvable into the enantiomers.
