Abstract

Hyperfine splitting by 33S nuclei has now been recorded for the first time in the ESR spectrum of a thioketyl. The 33S-enriched radical anion (1) shows the expected satellite signals. Judging by the spin population, (1) resembles an alkyl radical more closely than a thiyl radical.
