Di-tert-butyl acetylenedicarboxylate is a valuable cycloaddition reagent—as has been confirmed for several examples. However, it is not quite so new as was stated on p. 149 of the February issue of this Journal. The first synthesis was published slightly earlier by Hopf et al. in Chemische Berichte.
