Three linearly arranged nickel atoms and two coordinatively unsaturated Li and two pentacoordinated C atoms present in the new complex (2) (C12H18 = all-cis-1,5,9-cyclododecatriene). Compound (2), formed as by-product in the lithiation of C11H18Ni0, was obtained from (1) in 30% yield.
