A “synthon” suitable for a copper- and sulfurcontaining compound with a cubane skeleton is the “ready-made corner” OWS. Reaction of Cs2WOS3 with CuCL2 and PPh3 expectedly (preferred formation of CuS as aginst CuO bonds) gives comples (1). Cu-bane-type structure containing Cu and S were formerly unknown.
