The curing of silicone lattices has been studied using 29Si NMR spectroscopy. It has been found that cross-linking occurs prior to removal of the water. Stabilizers prevent gelation by slowing down the rate of condensation, particularly of higher functionality cross-linkers. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
